Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Transform, enhance and implement internal controls to incorporate internal & external transformational changes while continue to ensure adherence to applicable regulations, policies & operational compliances.
- Responsible for improving control environment by ensuring satisfactory audit experience and enhancing internal controls. Design audit governance framework to create meaningful insights for leadership and engage with RELM and process teams periodically to ensure audit preparedness of teams.
- Supporting processes to effectively manage and resolve issues. Drive early detection of risks and issues, supporting the processes to fix them rapidly, in line with risk appetite. Support the operational activities to prevent financial impacting issues via effective processes and controls design and execution.
- Independently assess PRSAs to ensure all the risks and controls in the processes are adequately documented using the PRSA methodology. Front end the annual Risk Assessment Questionnaire refresh process. Ensure robust coverage of processes through the PRSA program and effectively execute all PRSA framework requirements.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end risk assessment process for all new products, platforms, and capabilities, supporting and enabling business growth. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the Change Management program is compliant with the Enterprise AEMP 54 management policy and Operational Excellence Governing standards. This position will be responsible for conducting training and awareness sessions to ensure that teams are consistently educated on the policy requirements.
- EFFECTIVELY ENGAGE AND LIAISE WITH THE CENTRAL CONTROL & COMPLIANCE TEAMS to ensure effective execution of compliance guidelines and related projects.
- Focus on building the culture of “bringing regulatory and operational risk mindset to your role everyday” by centrally understanding the training needs and delivering tailored trainings as required (e.g. AXP Finance and Management Policies and Protocols, Good Reconciliation Practice, Phishing etc.)
- Proactively lead and support enterprise-wide initiatives (E.g. Fast Forward, Falcon) to ensure detailed impact enhancement along with enhanced control environment in line with the compliance governance framework
Qualifications & Experience
- C.A. / MBA with at least 3 years of experience or Graduate with at least 7+ years work experience
- Well-developed analytical skills, ability to understand the linkages to processes.
- Demonstrated Accounting and Reporting expertise with good understanding of US GAAP and financial accounting standards.
- Knowledge of Oracle/ERP and card business model and economics
- Good understanding/experience of Amex front end systems and other systems including Oracle GL & TM1, Advanced MS Office, OBIEE and Essbase
- Strong operations and risk management skills, as well excellent relationship management abilities with the skill to impact and influence at all levels, with extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units and functional groups across the Three Lines of Defense.
- Ability to think innovatively and to pursue ideas with conviction.
- Excellent team player with strong Inter-Personal skills and communication skills – both written and spoken.
- The Incumbent should be Assertive, should be able to influence & corroborate without direct authority.
- A self-starter with ability to operate under ambiguous circumstances.
- Must have good Communication and Interpersonal skills and be able to interact with senior leadership, with Finance, multiple employee levels /Business Partners/Customers etc.,
