Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Work closely with outside service providers to ensure timely preparation and filing of fund, co-invests, separately managed accounts, internal discretionary entities annual schedules k-1’s
- Prepare the taxable income estimates accurately which are sent to investors quarterly
- Maintain withholding documentation and oversee the compliance for FATCA, CRS, etc.
- Review tax withholding calculations for distributions under quick turn-around
- Prepare quarterly tax provisions for blocker corporations
- Review investor tax questions and responses
- Handle numerous ad-hoc tax related requests for relevant stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
- 7-10 years of experience in a multinational Financial Services organization with Private Equity exposure and understands business processes for US Partnership Tax compliance functions (US individual tax exposure a plus)
- Experience with US tax reporting; details included as part of a partnership federal Schedule K-1, K-2 and K-3 issued to investors as well as state K-1s
- Familiar with Global Information Reporting and withholding, including experience with Forms W-8 and W-9, self-certification forms and FATA/CRS reporting.
- Demonstrates an understanding of complex tax technical issues
- Demonstrates an understanding of the structure of an investment, including deciphering a structure chart and potential US tax information reporting for investors.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, including strong communication skills and email writing skills with the ability to correspond directly with banks, investors, Big 4 tax advisors, legal advisors, KKR colleagues, etc.
- Ability to decipher, research and address investor tax related questions; understand and simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points
- Builds strong relationships with local and global colleagues
- Responsible for sharing knowledge/information with peers and team
- Displays team-work orientation and is highly collaborative
- Ability to manage numerous requests and tasks on a daily basis and track/respond to requests in a timely manner
- Can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to understand, review and update workbooks to reflect annual taxable income
