Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Performs duties related to creating and/or acquisition of information such as analyzing, editing, proofreading, and writing.
- Assists in acquisition of source material from multiple websites (governmental and others), or receives a request from editorial to process a document as required. Researches case and legislation citations.
- Proofreading material to verify copyediting and other mark up processed.
- Assists on amending, researching, or analyzing primary source material.
- Creates and supports meta data.
- Performs duties related to the preparation of and final delivery of information such as converting, coding, merging, rendering, keying, loading, and validation of information.
- Converts new or existing information to a coded data file for established workflows or product development enhancements.
- Incorporates and responds to input from content experts on functionality, presentation and formatting of content.
- Assists in the delivery of final product through delivery of electronic files for all media.
- Assist in preparing content for 3rd party vendors.
- Works regularly on various systems, software, databases, and applications to deliver quality products.
- Assists in maintaining the integrity and completeness of work product and product databases for editorial and primary source materials.
- Analyzes and assists in resolving routine problems.
- Ensures completeness, proper structure, and functionality (proofreading, resolving simple issues, and review) for assigned products.
- Provides effective and timely escalation of quality issues.
- Supports team goals by meeting deadline and working within parameters set by supervisor within Business Units.
- Works with supervision.
- The primary focus at this level is training and to attain skill proficiency.
- Decisions impact assigned work.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 0-1 year experience in content work with strong analytical skills.
- Has strong understanding of editorial tools to edit or compile data.
- Excellent written and verbal English and communication skills, including composition/grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal contacts.
- An aptitude for technical/editing skills, including word processing and file management skills.
- Demonstrated skill proficiency with mark-up.
- Demonstrates initiative in seeking out new knowledge and learn new processes/procedures (skills).
- Detail-oriented with an aptitude for analysis and problem solving on an individualized level and within the context of a team environment.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Strong learning agility, able to learn quickly and apply knowledge to increasingly complex and changing work.
- Ability to follow and interpret instructions provided accurately and create commentary data/instruction lines as necessary.
- Ability to prioritize and stay focused while dealing with significant amount of content, multiple assignments and tasks.
- Normal office hours and environments, extensive reading and exposure to personal computers, extra hours may be required to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with team members, contacts from other teams effectively.
- Unlikely to have direct customer contact.
- May work with a wide-range of internal contacts including but not limited to Editorial, Data Management, Content Management, Manufacturing, Technology departments, Product Management, Product Development.
